The Symposium Prenatal Stress and Brain Disorders in Later Life in Berlin was a successful event that brought together renowned scientists and students from multiple disciplines such as medicine, neurology, epidemiology, biology, biochemistry, psychiatry, psychology, perinatal-and neonatal medicine, and gynecology in an effort to address the impact of prenatal stress on programming of brain function in later life and to discuss innovative interventional approaches to this challenge.

At the two-day meeting, around 65 participants were involved in lively discussions both during and after the sessions on the current research and on ideas and to foster new approaches and directions for future research in this exciting field. At the meeting we were joined by the award-winning journalist Volkart Wildermuth who interviewed several of the speakers in between the sessions and did a radio feature on the radio station Deutschlandfunk.
